This Thursday, the delivery of the 14th Edition of the New Professionals Awards 2019 I'll’Agricultural School of Santa Maria del Vallès will receive the award for the best circular economy project category.
This year's project is titled HIDROPONIC.LAB and deals with a “low cost” cultivation system for affected areas. This topic was chosen by suggesting that students link the knowledge acquired in class with a problematic and current issue affecting 21st-century agriculture.
This is where the idea for the “Hydroponic Lab” was born, an educational and research project aimed at minimizing the cost of this cultivation system. A space to experiment with different agricultural production systems in extreme environmental conditions with the goal of promoting the social and cooperative economy and framing agricultural production within a circular economy system.
It is already the third year that the school has entered and won an award.
The purpose of these awards is to motivate and promote the entrepreneurial, innovative, and creative spirit of students in vocational training courses from any professional field, as well as those Training and Integration Programs (PFI), through public recognition of projects.
